Accudraw links

Accudraw is a tool I designed and developed while working at Bentley Systems between 1994 and 1996. It remains in use relatively unchanged and still gets articles written on it nearly 20 years later. Here are some mentions of it on the web that are as recent as 2013.

Article from 2003 "Accudraw Rocks"

"Developed by Rob Brown, a former Bentley employee, and first introduced with PowerDraft in 1995 - AccuDraw is the one production tool that will make a difference in your day."

Discussion from 2006 on AutoCAD forum

"accudraw is the most powerful tool in cad history."

Detailed article from 2009 on AccuDraw

"AccuDraw is your ultimate weapon to place drawing elements in your design files. It can help you to place elements precisely, effectively, and efficient."

2009 80 page (!) Accudraw instruction course (pdf)

Students will learn that AccuDraw is indispensable when working in MicroStation. They will discover how to use this essential and powerful tool to increase drawing and modeling accuracy, and easily create difficult geometry that previously required many steps.

2012 Accudraw detailed instruction (pdf)

"AccuDraw is a drafting aid that evaluates such parameters as your current pointer location, the previously entered data point, the last coordinate directive, the current tool's needs, and any directive you have entered via shortcut key-ins or AccuDraw options. AccuDraw then generates the appropriate precision coordinates and applies them to the active tool."

2013 discussion of Accudraw

"This just reminded me that with almost 30 years of working on CAD with 6 different programs, Accudraw is the single best command".

"I don't know who came up with the idea of Accudraw, but they are an absolute genius in my mind. "

"AccuDraw was invented by Rob Brown and was patented in July of 1998."
